Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and sometimes stylized with lowercase letters, such as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, came out in May 2015 on Decca Records to great approval of bloggers in the music industry and media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are two of her best-known songs. Katy Perry shared a tweet where Perry announced her new song Runaway. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of finding an attic piano and being fascinated by the music it could create. Parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a career or hobby but to grow. So she started her own compositions. She credits Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, along with Bjork as her main influences. Her mother encouraged her to perform her music in front of the public, but not to be famous, but to help others realize that they matter and how they can make a difference for humanity. She began playing the piano when she was six years old and started making music when she was 9 years old. The family members didn't know about her musical journey until she was 14. The dream was never to become Aurora. Her sole passion is to compose music. She claims that music is her favorite way to feel anything.
